Job Description

**This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Java Developer/Perl Developer based in the United States.** The Senior Java Developer/Perl Developer will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise-level software applications supporting critical business operations. This role will work within an agile engineering environment, collaborating with architects, developers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions. The position offers the opportunity to work on complex systems throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through deployment and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong Java expertise, experience with Perl-based applications, and a passion for building reliable, maintainable software solutions. Working with modern development practices and established engineering standards, this professional will help improve application performance, security, and user experience. This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced software engineer who thrives in collaborative teams and enjoys solving challenging technical problems. ### Accountabilities: The Senior Java Developer/Perl Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications while contributing to agile delivery processes and technical improvements. Key responsibilities include: - Participate in agile development teams to support the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. - Design, develop, and enhance Java-based enterprise applications while ensuring high performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability. - Develop and maintain Perl applications, scripts, and related software components as required. - Review functional and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions. - Collaborate with architects and development teams to ensure solutions align with technical standards, security requirements, and architectural best practices. - Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design documents and development artifacts. - Apply software engineering best practices, including test-driven development, code reviews, static analysis, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated security testing. - Develop and integrate RESTful web services and enterprise application components using modern Java frameworks. - Support database-driven applications through SQL development, data modeling, and ORM technologies. - Contribute to process improvements, engineering efficiency initiatives, and team knowledge sharing. - Collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership throughout project delivery. ## Requirements: The successful candidate will have extensive experience developing enterprise software applications, strong Java expertise, and the ability to contribute effectively within an agile engineering environment.
