This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Developer - Real-Time Processing Platform based in Canada.
This role offers the opportunity to build and scale mission-critical systems that power advanced cybersecurity capabilities in a high-growth technology environment.
The successful candidate will design and enhance distributed platforms responsible for processing massive volumes of data in real time.
You will work on complex engineering challenges involving event processing, detection systems, cloud-native architectures, and large-scale data pipelines.
Collaborating with security experts, engineers, and cross-functional teams, you will help transform sophisticated threat intelligence into scalable solutions.

You will contribute to architecture decisions, mentor other engineers, and help build reliable systems operating at extreme scale.

### Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and enhance core components of large-scale real-time processing and detection platforms.
- Build and maintain distributed systems capable of processing and analyzing trillions of events per day with high reliability and performance.
- Develop solutions across event processing systems, detection frameworks, correlation platforms, and stream-processing infrastructure.
- Solve complex engineering challenges related to scalability, latency, throughput, reliability, and cost optimization in cloud-native environments.
- Contribute to the architecture and technical direction of next-generation platform capabilities.
- Deliver secure, high-quality, production-ready software and operate systems at significant scale.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, security specialists, threat researchers, and other stakeholders to improve platform effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvements in system performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Participate in technical decision-making and help establish engineering best practices.
- Mentor and support other developers by sharing knowledge and promoting a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous learning.
- Take ownership of complex technical initiatives from design through implementation and production deployment.
## Requirements
- 5–10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and operating complex distributed systems at scale.
- Strong background in real-time data processing architectures, high-throughput systems, and event-driven platforms.
- Experience delivering production-grade software solutions end-to-end with a high level of autonomy.
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Golang, Python, or Java.
- Experience building and deploying applications in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency with containerized technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with microservices architectures and CI/CD environments.
- Familiarity with event-streaming and messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Spark, Redpanda, RabbitMQ, SQS, or similar platforms is an asset.
- Experience with cybersecurity, observability, telemetry, or other data-intensive technology environments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, engineering principles, and scalable system design.
- Passion for building high-quality software and solving complex technical challenges.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within remote, cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
