Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Delphi Developer with hands-on experience in developing and maintaining Windows desktop applications using Delphi (Object Pascal). The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in VCL-based application development, database integration, Windows APIs, and legacy application maintenance. Experience with .NET technologies will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Windows desktop applications using Delphi (Object Pascal).
- Develop user-friendly and high-performance applications utilizing VCL components.
- Integrate and manage databases such as MS SQL Server, SQLite, and other Delphi-supported databases.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database operations.
- Utilize Windows APIs to implement system-level functionality and application enhancements.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in existing Delphi applications.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Adhere to Scrum processes, development standards, and coding best practices.
- Collaborate effectively with multiple development teams and stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of professional experience in Delphi / Object Pascal development.
- Strong experience with Delphi 7, Delphi XE, and later versions.
- Solid experience in Windows desktop application development using VCL components.
- Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server, SQLite, and relational database design.
- Strong SQL programming skills including queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
- Experience working with Windows APIs and OS-level integrations.
- Knowledge of SMTP protocol implementation.
- Experience maintaining and enhancing legacy Delphi applications.
- Hands-on experience with third-party Delphi components and libraries.
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Experience using Jira or similar project management tools.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
Secondary / Additional Skills (Preferred)
- Experience with C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, and LINQ.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience with web portal development and integration.
- Exposure to FireDAC or other advanced Delphi database frameworks.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and SOAP web services integration.
- Knowledge of multi-threaded application development in Delphi.
- Understanding of application performance tuning and optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
