About Munich Electrification
Munich Electrification is an innovative company founded with the aim of accelerating the transition to electric and connected mobility. We develop innovative electronic control units for electric vehicles and stationary storage systems for our global customers. Our international team is composed of highly motivated and exceptional engineers. As a small and specialized team we are well-aware of the importance of each individual colleague and support and promote each employee according to their abilities and needs. Our office with adjacent prototype and testing lab is located in the heart of Munich at the Heimeranplatz.
This is what we stand for:
- Technological Leadership: We challenge norms, innovate quickly, and anticipate future needs. We take smart risks and learn from outcomes to stay ahead.
- Sustainability: We actively drive change for a sustainable future, aware of our impact and inspiring others to build a better world.
- Team Culture: We believe work should be enjoyable, fostering a spirit of inspiration, celebration, and teamwork across the globe.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: We embrace change, think big, and push limits with passion.
## Your Role
We are seeking a versatile Senior Software Engineer to drive the development and end-to-end lifecycle management of our next-generation software products. In this role, you will hold comprehensive ownership over the software you build—from initial design to production deployment. Your scope will include developing high-performance Rust command-line interfaces (CLIs), robust REST APIs, and web services, while simultaneously architecting the underlying CI/CD pipelines, automated security scanning, compliance frameworks, and distribution models.
Our engineering team operates with high adaptability. While your immediate priority will be anchoring our Rust-based development, you possess strong full-stack capabilities. You are equally comfortable pivoting to contribute to our core Python, FastAPI, and AWS cloud ecosystem to support shifting business objectives and ensure continuous product delivery.
## Your future tasks at a glance
- Multi-Stack Software Engineering: Architect and maintain high-performance, concurrent applications in Rust, alongside feature development and maintenance within our Python and FastAPI microservices.
- Complete SDLC Ownership: Establish and maintain the entire software development lifecycle infrastructure around your applications, including unit testing, integration testing, license compliance, and automated vulnerability scanning.
- Release & Distribution Automation: Design and optimize the build, compilation, containerization, and secure distribution processes for internal and public-facing software tools.
- Cloud & DevOps Integration: Support and evolve our cloud environments, security architectures, and remote build platforms hosted on AWS.
## What you bring with you
- Senior Engineering Background: A university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent extensive industry experience delivering production-grade software systems.
- Advanced Polyglot Capabilities: Proven experience writing clean, production-ready Rust, complemented by a strong full-stack background in Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or similar).
- Automated Quality & Compliance: Experience configuring automated security scanners, license verification tools, and robust test pipelines within a continuous integration environment.
- DevOps & Infrastructure-as-Code: Proficiency with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, or Dagger is highly desirable.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Practical experience provisioning and managing infrastructure within the AWS ecosystem, specifically utilizing S3, ECS, and Lambda.
- Professional Attributes: A highly autonomous professional with an engineering mindset centered on product ownership, system reliability, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in German is considered a distinct advantage
