This entrepreneurial leadership role requires a strategic thinker and relationship builder who can identify opportunities, develop new client relationships, secure work, and build a high-performing multidisciplinary team. You will help shape the market presence of the practice while delivering innovative transportation planning and urban mobility solutions for public and private sector clients. Your Key Responsibilities Market Growth and Business Development - Lead the development and execution of a market growth strategy to establish and expand Stantec's Urban Mobility presence in Milwaukee, Madison, and Chicago. - Identify emerging market opportunities, industry trends, and strategic clients to drive sustainable business growth. - Develop and cultivate relationships with local, regional, and state agencies, municipalities, developers, and other key stakeholders. - Generate and secure new work through networking, client engagement, strategic pursuits, and proposal leadership. - Champion project pursuits by shaping teams, developing winning strategies, writing compelling proposals, and negotiating fees. - Collaborate with regional and business center leadership to align market growth activities with broader business objectives. - Serve as a visible industry leader through professional organizations, conferences, thought leadership, and community engagement. Project Leadership and Delivery - Serve as a senior technical resource and project manager for urban mobility and transportation planning assignments. - Lead complex transportation planning studies, corridor plans, multimodal mobility initiatives, and infrastructure planning projects. - Provide strategic guidance on transportation systems, active transportation, transit, and multimodal design solutions. - Build and manage project teams to successfully deliver high-quality work that meets client expectations and business objectives. - Maintain oversight of project performance, schedules, budgets, quality management, and risk mitigation. - Collaborate with professionals across Stantec to leverage technical expertise and support project delivery. Practice and Team Building - Identify future talent needs and develop a multidisciplinary team of transportation planners, engineers, and related professionals to support market growth. - Establish an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing team culture focused on collaboration, innovation, and professional development. - Mentor and coach staff while creating clear pathways for career growth and advancement. - Foster employee engagement and connectedness through regular communication, recognition, and development opportunities. - Promote a culture of safety, ethics, accountability, and exceptional client service. ### Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials - Highly effective in assisting and leading teams on complex projects. - Demonstrates ability to readily identify potential challenges/issues on a project. - Efficient project management of multiple concurrent projects. - Highly effective in building and maintaining client relationships. - Ability to analyze, interpret, evaluate, and solve complex issues using sound professional judgment, creativity, innovation and strategic thinking - Ability to craft compelling proposals, including strategic fee proposals Education and Experience - Minimum bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. - Minimum 7 years’ experience in the field of transportation planning or engineering. You will work in an open-concept office setting. Local travel may be required for attending client or public meetings, scoping new assignments, and visiting project sites. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week. Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law). Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
