Northrop Grumman Defense has an opening for a **Systems Engineer** (level 2)**/** **Principal Systems Engineer** (level 3) to join its Guidance Computer team in **Roy, UT** in support of the Sentinel Program**.** Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. **What you will get to do** **:** The selected engineer will: - Perform design trade study implementation. - Design and develop key capabilities and performance requirements for the Guidance Computer (GC). - Define design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with Customer specifications. - Develop thorough definition of system external interfaces. - Define system implementation approach and operational concept. - Ensure Customer requirements are met - Evaluate system performance with Customer. - Demonstrate technical skills & organization - Demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity - Be an effective communicator and problem solver who can develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. - Possess the ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the program as required to accomplish tasks. **Basic Qualifications:** **Systems Engineer (Level 2):** - Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with master’s degree. - Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher at the time of application. - Must have the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance. - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need - 1 year of experience with electronics design and verification - 1 year of experience defining hardware-software and hardware-hardware interfaces - 1 year of experience working trade studies - 1 year of experience reading electrical drawings **Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3):** - Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of related experience, 3 years of related experience with master’s degree, or 1 year of related experience with PhD. - Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher at the time of application. - Must have the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance. - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need - 2 years of experience with electronics design and verification - 2 years of experience defining hardware-software and hardware-hardware interfaces - 2 years of experience working trade studies - 2 years of experience reading electrical drawings **Preferred Qualifications** **:** - Mature requirements definition experience including definition of verification plans. - Experience with engineering requirements management tools (i.e. DOORS). - Experience working on an agile team. - Understanding the following specialty areas: nuclear surety, cybersecurity, flight safety. - Strong experience in system engineering (SE) process, including SE experience across multiple levels of integration for a DoD/Aerospace program. - Experience with Critical Design Review Planning and/or execution. - Experience as a stakeholder alongside hardware, software, and firmware development to ensure designs stay aligned to the requirements baseline. **Position Benefits** **:** As a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including:  - Medical, Dental & Vision coverage - 401k - Educational Assistance - Life Insurance - Employee Assistance Programs & Work/Life Solutions - Paid Time Off - Health & Wellness Resources - Employee Discounts This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   **#SentinelSystems** Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
