Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade Java microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
• Define and evolve RESTful API standards, contracts, and service security practices
• Design and tune PostgreSQL schemas for performance and scalability
• Implement caching strategies using Redis or Memcached to optimize service performance
• Integrate Java services with workflow orchestration platforms such as Appian
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable system designs
• Participate in and help drive SAFe agile ceremonies and delivery practices
• Contribute to a Workflow or Integration Center of Excellence

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of enterprise application development, with 5+ years of Java experience
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture, API design, and system integration
• Experience with Spring Boot / Spring Cloud, RESTful APIs, and service security
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), schema design, and performance tuning
• Experience with caching strategies (e.g., Redis, Memcached)
• Familiarity integrating Java services with workflow orchestration platforms such as Appian
• Strong understanding of agile development practices (SAFe preferred)
• Excellent communication skills with technical and business stakeholders
• Preferred: experience building Java integrations/extensions for BPM platforms (Appian, Camunda, JBPM)
• Preferred: background in Healthcare IT, payment integrity, or payer systems
• Preferred: experience contributing to a Workflow or Integration Center of Excellence
• Preferred: exposure to AI-enabled backend services supporting workflow intelligence
