Software Developer Responsibilities and Duties
This position will be a key member of our development team and play a important role in the development and maintenance of point of sale, productivity, and business applications vital to the long-term success of Lester Building Systems. We are looking for a talented full stack developer to work with our suite of legacy VB.NET applications to modernize and build the next generation of applications.
- Design, develop, test and deploy new applications and redesign or enhancements to existing applications.
- Guide application design to provide optimal user experiences
- Develop and maintain user interfaces, databases, and reports
- Test software to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements
- Provide user support and training
- Collect information from users regarding software requirements
- Collaboration with the software development team and organizational teams
- Make recommendations to improve existing systems by using new methods or technology
Software Developer Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in software development or related field; equivalent work-related technical experience will also be considered
- Strong Desire for technical ownership and accountability for a project, building resilient, maintainable code that servers the users
- Enthusiasm for hands-on end to end development in a dynamic, agile environment
- 3+ years of user interface development
- 3+ years of experience with VB.NET, C#, Microsoft. NET using Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft Windows desktop applications
- Working knowledge of object-oriented principles and Microsoft.NET best practices
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or newer and Transact SQL
- Working knowledge of Azure Cloud services including Entra ID, App Services, Blob Storage, Key Vaults, and Application Insights
- Working knowledge of API integration including REST APIs, OAuth and JSON
Software Developer Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GitHub, GitHub Auctions and CI/CD principles and concepts
- Experience in a construction related manufacturing or operations environment
- Working knowledge of SOLID principles, MVC/MVP/MVVM, and Clean/Onion Architecture
- Experience with LLMs in a development environment
- Working knowledge of automated unit testing including tools such as NUnit, XUnit, FluentAssertions, and AutoFixture
- Working knowledge of third-party API integrations
- Working knowledge of EpicorERP or equivalent
- Experience with automating graphic/CAD applications such as AutoCAD, or similar
Software Developer Salary Range
Annual salary of $70,000 to $100,000. This represents a good faith estimate of the current salary range based on the role. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary by individual qualifications including relevant job knowledge, education skills and experience.
