Software Developer - Platform (Embedded, C++)

The successful candidate will join an agile software development team within Ford's Telemetry Control Unit (TCU) organization — an energetic team that works on a variety of features providing functionality that directly impacts end customer experience.
### Responsibilities
What you'll do...
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Designing, implementing, and testing new features
- Supporting downstream teams by investigating issues and resolving defects on the existing code base
- Optimizing performance and improving robustness of the software
- Integrating and maintaining software from 3rd party vendors and open source projects
- Collaborating with internal and external teams to deliver cross-functional features spanning multiple embedded systems
### Qualifications
You'll have...
Education
Bachelor’s degree in programming/computer science/engineering-related program.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in:
- C++ (11 or newer).
- Object-oriented programming concepts.
- POSIX-compliant/certified embedded operating systems (e.g., Linux, QNX).
- Development tools (e.g., git, repo, make, gcc, g++, gdb).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Even better, you may have...
Experience
- DoIP (Diagnostics over IP).
- Scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl).
- Networking technologies (e.g., Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP, ICMP, ARP, DNS, DHCP, routing).
- Packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
- Cellular wireless technologies.

The expected annual salary range for this Ford of Canada position is $89,000.00 - $139,000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.

Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.
