Job Description

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Identity team. In this role, you will design, build, and operate distributed systems that handle authentication and authorization decisions at scale. You will work on challenging problems at the intersection of security, distributed systems, and customer experience — ensuring that AWS customers can securely and seamlessly manage access to their resources. Key job responsibilities • Design and implement core identity infrastructure components including control plane APIs, data plane execution environments, and deployment orchestration systems • Design and implement scalable, highly available services that process millions of requests per second • Develop monitoring, observability, and operational tooling to ensure production reliability and enable rapid incident response • Contribute to technical strategy and architecture decisions for session management, identity/permissions, cross-account access, and security integrations • Mentor junior engineers and drive engineering excellence through code reviews, design reviews, and operational best practices Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
