About SERVPRO Team Wilson SERVPRO Team Wilson is one of the largest and fastest-growing SERVPRO franchises in the country. We're building the next generation of internal technology that powers our restoration, reconstruction, and business operations across multiple markets. We're looking for a Software Engineer II / Full Stack Developer to help evolve our enterprise platform. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll build new features, solve complex technical challenges, and help modernize a large ERP platform supporting real business operations. You'll work closely with our Technical Lead and business stakeholders to deliver scalable software that directly impacts our teams and customers. We embrace AI-assisted software development as part of our engineering culture. Successful candidates should be comfortable using modern AI coding assistants to accelerate development, troubleshoot issues, generate documentation, and improve productivity while maintaining high standards for code quality and architecture. Contractor Expectations - This opportunity is a 1099 Independent Contractor engagement and is not an offer of employment. - The engagement is expected to average approximately 40 hours per week, although the contractor determines the time necessary to complete the contracted services. - The contractor provides services under an independent contractor agreement and is responsible for determining the methods, means, and sequence of performing the contracted work, provided project deliverables, quality standards, and agreed-upon milestones are achieved. - Contractors are expected to participate in recurring engineering team meetings between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM Central Time and coordinate effectively with project stakeholders. - The contractor is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, including self-employment taxes, and is responsible for maintaining any required licenses, insurance, and business registrations applicable to their services. - As a 1099 independent contractor, no employee benefits are provided, including health insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits, unemployment insurance, or workers' compensation coverage. - Success is measured by the timely delivery of high-quality software, achievement of project milestones, and effective collaboration with the engineering team. What You'll Do - Design, develop, and deliver new ERP functionality from requirements through production - Build modern React user interfaces - Develop backend services and REST APIs using TypeScript and Node.js - Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL databases and queries - Debug production issues and implement long-term solutions - Build and maintain integrations with third-party platforms - Write automated tests where appropriate - Participate in peer code reviews - Contribute to architecture and technical design discussions - Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability - Assist with cloud infrastructure, deployments, and platform modernization - Help migrate services to our Render-hosted cloud environment - Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational needs into software solutions Current Technology Stack Frontend - React - TypeScript - TanStack Query - Modern JavaScript/TypeScript Backend - TypeScript - Node.js - REST APIs - Background workers - Scheduled jobs Database - PostgreSQL Infrastructure - Render - Cloudflare R2 - GitHub Integrations - TrustLayer - QuickBooks Online - Various SaaS APIs Required Qualifications - 3–6+ years of professional software development experience - Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript - Professional experience with React - Experience working with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL - Experience using Git in a collaborative development environment - Experience designing and consuming REST APIs - Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to independently own features from design through deployment Preferred Qualifications - Experience building ERP, CRM, or other complex business applications - Experience with cloud platforms such as Render, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud - Experience building and maintaining third-party API integrations - Experience designing and optimizing PostgreSQL or other relational databases - Experience with asynchronous processing, background workers, and scheduled jobs - Experience profiling and optimizing application performance - Experience working in small, fast-moving engineering teams - Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT - Strong prompt engineering skills with the ability to communicate technical requirements effectively while validating AI-generated code What Success Looks Like The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical problems, takes ownership of their work, collaborates well across technical and business teams, and is excited to help build software that directly supports business growth.
