As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. In this role, you will contribute to designing and building intelligent, automated identity verification workflows. You will gain experience integrating the platform with Google products and external vendors while engineering solutions to meet various international regulations. You will work with technical leads and address complex technical challenges at the heart of digital trust and safety. Responsibilities Collaborate with Product Managers, Program Managers, and Technical Leads across the payments platform to translate complex requirements into elegant code. Write and modify code that connects the platform with a various set of clients and Google products. Help adapt and customize the solutions to meet a wide array of local regulatory requirements from countries around the world. Ensure the platform is both globally consistent and locally compliant, often requiring creative problem-solving to map legal requirements to technical implementations. Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to identity data processing, rule engine configurations, and secure data handling. Contribute to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the verification processes. Contribute to the reliability and maintainability of the services by writing robust code, develop comprehensive tests, and participate in code reviews, and help to refine the engineering practices.
