Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. 5 years of experience building and deploying recommendation systems models (retrieval, prediction, ranking, embedding) in production and experience building architecture in different modeling domains. 5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning). Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. Experience in C++/Java. Experience in business-to-business (B2B) or e-commerce software. Responsibilities Develop solutions for the complex Creator Recommendation system and other full-stack features for merchants using YouTube and Google Commerce technologies. Leverage the YouTube Infrastructure to build software that has better debuggability, performance, and reliability. Foster engineering best practices in design, development, testing, code reviews, and agile development. Partner with Product Management (PM), UX, and User Experience Research (UXR) to define product requirements, iterate on designs, and polish user-centric solutions. Work with other engineering teams to deliver merchant experiences.
