Forum Financial Management, LP is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our back-office team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, month-end close, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, payroll accounting, and the preparation of accurate financial statements. This is a one-year contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role.
This individual will be responsible for:
Job Responsibilities & Activities
General Accounting & Financial Reporting
· Perform general cost accounting and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries
· Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
· Assist with the month-end close process, including account analysis and reconciliations
· Conduct periodic budget-to-actual comparisons and investigate basic variances
· Support the implementation of a new GL system by setting up modules, testing functionality and developing training materials for users
· Provide support on quarterly and annual tax filings including preparations of 1099s
Accounting Operations (AP, AR & Cash Management)
· Code and process accounts payable invoices, ensuring expenses are charged to the appropriate accounts
· Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and collections follow-up
· Reconcile bank accounts, cash disbursements, and other routine financial accounts
· Maintain corporate checking accounts and related financial documentation
· Conduct audits to ensure expenses are being properly entered and tracked
Payroll Accounting & Audit Support
· Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes
· Prepare and maintain payroll records, reports, and reconciliations
· Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and maintaining organized financial records
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
· Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
· Proficient with Excel
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience supporting accounting or back-office operations for an RIA or Broker-Dealer
Compensation
· Competitive salary range of $65,000 – $85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
