A Career that Empowers You to Build Your Future The Staff Accountant, General Accounting is a core member of the accounting organization, responsible for supporting General Accounting processes and activities, while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with US GAAP. Your Responsibilities on the Team - Assist with General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Leases, Homebuilding & Inventory, Accruals, and Allocations processes. - Prepare accounting transactions and maintain records, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with US GAAP. - Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation. - Assist in the design and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to drive efficiency and accuracy in compliance with US GAAP. - Assist with internal and external audits by compiling schedules, documentation, and responses under supervision. - Support end-to-end process optimization and automation initiatives that measurably improve operational efficiency, scalability, and compliance. - Collaborate cross-functionally to support system enhancements, workflow automation, and data quality improvements. - Assist in developing cross-functional relationships with stakeholders, including FP&A, Procurement, Operations, Treasury, Internal Audit, and other business partners. Your Toolbox - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred. - 1-2 years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or public company experience; Real estate and/or construction industry experience preferred. - Experience with agentic AI and LLM tools (Copilot / Claude), JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Essbase, Hyperion, Blackline, Power BI, and/or Alteryx preferred. - Familiarity with process improvement frameworks (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). - Knowledge and/or experience with digital technologies and their impact on the record to report process including analytical tools, close and reporting tools, and ERP systems. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Experience working in a SOX-compliant environment. - Strong knowledge of US GAAP. - CPA or CPA candidate preferred. Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs.
