Job Description
Location: Park City, Utah
POWDR is seeking a full-time, year-round Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team! This position will report to the Accounting Manager and provide general accounting best practices and GAAP to our accounting transactions.
We are seeking a hybrid arrangement; as such, this position will be required to be located within the Park City, UT area. We are not able to offer a permanent 100% remote option.

Our portfolio includes mountain resorts such as Copper Mountain and Eldora in Colorado; Boreal Mountain Resort and Soda Springs in California’s Lake Tahoe region; Mt. POWDR also owns Woodward, an experiential action sports company dedicated to empowering and inspiring the next generation through dynamic programming, innovative environments, and passionate people. Woodward’s footprint includes camps, mountain experiences, and mountain centers across North America.
Beyond the mountains, POWDR offers a diverse collection of adventure experiences; from Sun Country Tours in Oregon and Powderbird heli-adventures to Zion Mountain Ranch on the east side of Zion National Park. POWDR also operates Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park and Zion Lodge in Zion National Park under long-term concession agreements with the National Park Service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist in the monthly and annual close processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations.
- Answer accounting and financial questions through research and interpreting data.
- Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures.
- Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation for auditors as required.
- Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Enhance job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Up to 2 years’ experience in the accounting/finance field, preferably in the hospitality or outdoor recreation industry.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Coupa, FloQast) a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting.
- Demonstration of solid business acumen and ability to dig into financial details with a big picture perspective.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for working with employees at all levels of the company.
