Position Summary/Objective The Static Content (SC) Curriculum Developer contributes as a key member of the Static Content Curriculum Department by writing and developing curriculum content, lesson plans, templates, and teacher-facing resources used in STAR Autism Support's curriculum products. This role creates original content across a range of formats — including print and digital — for a wide variety of ages, skill levels, and topics, incorporating ABA and evidence-based practices, accessibility and inclusive representation, and tiered levels of support to meet the diverse needs of learners with autism and developmental disabilities. Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Writes new static curriculum content, including, but not limited to, lesson plans, templates, and teacher-facing resources that are developmentally and age-appropriate across a wide variety of age groups, skill levels, and topics - Researches and verifies subject-matter accuracy across curriculum topics, referencing credible and current sources as needed - Builds tiered levels of support and differentiation into curriculum content where applicable, to accommodate a range of student support needs within a single activity or across a set of activities - Edits existing curriculum content by integrating into new instructional plans as directed - Develops curriculum content across a variety of formats and presentation types, including print materials, digital/online platform content, and microlearnings - Applies accessibility and inclusive principles to curriculum content for learners with autism and developmental disabilities, ensuring materials are accessible and that examples and illustrations reflect inclusive representation - Incorporates ABA strategies and evidence-based practices into curriculum content - Writes and/or edits scripts needed for video content development - Ensures compliance with STAR's internal quality standards, curricula standards, style guide, and assignment-specific learning targets and criteria, while meeting set deadlines - Stays current on and ensures curriculum content aligns with school district, state, and federal requirements - Uses Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite to create and format curriculum content - Uses company approved AI tools to assist with the creation of lesson content - Uses company approved AI tools to create images to support curricula content - Partners with the SC Developmental Editor and other team members to incorporate feedback and complete revisions through iterative drafting cycles - Coordinates with the Video Production Team (VPT) for video content development - Collaborates with team members within and across departments to ensure content meets the diverse needs of STAR customers - Communicates regularly with the Curriculum team on topics such as deadlines, feedback, and work progress - Follows set curricula development procedures while noting and making suggestions of areas where efficiency or production can be increased Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in education, Instructional Design, or related field required - Minimum 3 years' experience using evidence-based practices and developing curriculum content and lesson plans for students with autism spectrum disorders - Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) teaching strategies - Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (or willingness/ability to quickly learn) Preferred Qualifications - Experience incorporating principles of accessibility and inclusive representation into curriculum content - Previous experience using SAS curriculum products - BCBA certification - Bilingual with Spanish Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Organizational KSA’s - Strong verbal and written business communication skills - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively - Has a growth mindset, is curious, and interested in ongoing learning and development - Adaptable and easily able to pivot as needed - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Self-motivated and proficient at working both independently and as part of a team - Intermediate Microsoft office skills and competence in a digital environment - Ability to streamline workflows by leveraging automation and AI tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy Role KSA’s - Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and instructionally effective content for a range of learners - Beginner-level fluency with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign), with the ability to mark up and edit PDF documents - Strong research skills, with the ability to verify subject-matter accuracy across a range of academic and topic areas - Sound judgment in applying accessibility and inclusive representation principles across written content, examples, and illustration requests - Passion for and expertise in ABA strategies and evidence-based practices, specifically when working with children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail - Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines - Commitment to excellence and high standards - Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities Travel This position does not require travel Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
