The Role
We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join our buildings and structures team in Canberra. Working with a specialist team of Engineers, Drafters and Project Managers, you will be responsible for technical design input, co-ordination and project delivery activities across buildings projects locally and nationally.
Your duties will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Coordinating the structural design and documentation for various projects locally and nationally
- Undertaking structural design components using relative software, including Space Gass, ETABS, Microstran and Strand7
- Reviewing structural designs, ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and Robert Bird Group
- Production of engineering reports and supporting tender proposals
- Proactively collaborating with team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables
- Actively contribute to the technical success of projects and the team
- Client liaison, in conjunction with Project Directors and Associates, regarding current and future projects
About You
- Relevant Engineering qualifications – with a focus in Structural Engineering
- 3+ years’ industry experience working within an engineering design consultancy
- Solid grounding in steel and concrete design
- Demonstrated design experience using relevant Structural software
- Possesses project management and hands-on experience, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects
- Strong understanding of Australian codes and standards
- Able to work on own initiative and in a team environment
