## Job Description
Hive is a new disaggregated storage platform for AI data centers. Each SSD serves NFS directly over Ethernet/RDMA, and many SSDs aggregate into a single scalable namespace. The software stack runs on an embedded SoC/DPU and builds on Ceph Crimson (Seastar, SeaStore, SPDK/DPDK).
What You'll Do
- Develop and harden the storage cluster software: SeaStore backend, Ceph OSD/MON control plane, and the NFS data path.
- Build the network path (TCP and RPC-over-RDMA / RoCE v2) from NIC to NVMe completion.
- Optimize the user-space I/O pipeline (poll-mode, kernel bypass) for low latency and high throughput.
- Co-tune software with SSD media behavior (pSLC/TLC tiering, erasure coding, garbage collection).
- Trace data flows, profile hot paths, and drive performance from PoC toward product.
If you want to move into early-stage AI data-center storage architecture and work across the full stack from NAND to NFS, this is the team.
## Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- Strong C/C++ on Linux; comfortable in a large, async, event-driven codebase.
- Systems software background: file systems, block I/O, networking, or embedded/SoC firmware.
- One or more of: Ceph/distributed storage, NVMe, RDMA/DPDK/SPDK, NFS, or DPU (BlueField, Marvell OCTEON).
- Hands-on debugging instinct; energized by building a new product from an early stage.
Nice to Have
- Experience with GPUDirect Storage, KV-cache / AI inference I/O, or erasure coding and data-protection design
