Job Description

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer with a strong Electrical/Electronics background to perform end-to-end functional testing across mobile, cloud, and product/appliance firmware for a connected appliance platform. The role focuses on validating OTA updates, MQTT-based device communication, and Wi-Fi/BLE provisioning workflows, ensuring reliable appliance-to-cloud connectivity and firmware quality. This is a fully onsite role based in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end system functional testing across Mobile, Cloud, and Product/Appliance Firmware
  • Execute OTA functional test scenarios including update, retry, and rollback
  • Validate MQTT message flows and functional workflows
  • Perform Wi-Fi and BLE functional testing including provisioning and reconnection
  • Conduct appliance-to-cloud functional communication testing
  • Perform system-level regression testing for firmware
  • Test system functionality across Product Info, Configuration, Product Control and Status, Events, Diagnostics, and OTA
  • Manage defect lifecycle and track issues using JIRA
  • Build and execute Python-based test automation scripts
  • Apply knowledge of laundry appliance usage scenarios to test design where applicable

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • 9+ years of experience validating appliances
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in OTA functional validation, MQTT, and Wi-Fi/BLE functional testing
  • Hands-on experience with Python-based test automation
  • Strong understanding of Electronics/Electrical concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables
