Job Description
Looking for Philippines-based candidates
Job Role: NET CMS Tech Lead (Full Stack .NET / Solution Architect)
Compensation range: $3,000 - $4,000 AUD/month
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 10 AM - 6 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.
Who The Client Is: Australia's leading Digital Agency specializing in digital product design, web experiences, and AI agent integration.
They help organisations design, build and optimise digital experiences that deliver clarity, performance and long-term value.
Role Overview: We're looking for an experienced .NET CMS Tech Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping the client's engineering capability while remaining hands-on with development.
This role combines technical leadership, solution architecture, and full-stack engineering. You'll mentor developers, lead technical decision-making, design scalable CMS solutions, and work directly with clients to solve complex technical challenges.
You'll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle—from discovery and solution architecture through development, deployment, and post-launch support—while helping elevate engineering standards across the business.
Ideal Candidate:
We're looking for a senior technical leader who can:
- Lead and mentor engineering teams while remaining hands-on with development
- Design scalable enterprise-grade digital solutions
- Work confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Balance solution architecture with practical software delivery
- Champion engineering best practices, quality, and continuous improvement
- Contribute to technical pre-sales and client solution workshops
- Take ownership of technical quality across multiple projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the engineering team, promoting best practices and technical excellence
- Design scalable, maintainable digital solutions using the Microsoft .NET ecosystem and CMS platforms (Umbraco preferred)
- Provide technical leadership throughout the entire project lifecycle
- Build and maintain complex full-stack web applications
- Collaborate with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture planning, and solution design
- Establish and improve engineering standards, development processes, and delivery practices
- Review code and ensure high-quality technical outputs across projects
- Support technical pre-sales by contributing to proposals, estimates, and solution presentations
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide technical guidance to the wider team
- Promote secure software development practices and technical governance
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering capability, tooling, and processes
- 10+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack .NET Developer
- 5+ years of experience designing enterprise-level solution architectures
- Proven experience leading and mentoring software engineering teams
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with a .NET CMS platform (Umbraco highly preferred)
- Strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework, and/or .NET Core
- Experience designing and building scalable web applications
- Strong database development, optimisation, and administration skills
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies and modern JavaScript frameworks
- Experience working across the full software development lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting technical solutions
- Strong understanding of secure software development and application security
- Knowledge of penetration testing principles and security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
Nice to Have:
- Extensive experience with Umbraco CMS
- Experience working within digital agencies or consulting environments
- Experience contributing to technical pre-sales and solution consulting
- Experience defining engineering standards and governance
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure
- Experience leading multiple concurrent technical projects
Work Arrangement & Expectations:
This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:
- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
- Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
