Job Description

TekSyntax Inc is hiring a Mobile Application Developer to support a federal contract engagement in Ashburn, VA. The role involves building cross-platform mobile applications with Flutter/Dart, developing RESTful back-end services with Java and Node.js, and working within an Agile, service-oriented delivery team. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens able to obtain and maintain a CBP background investigation; prior DHS experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and Dart
  • Build and maintain front-end mobile interfaces and back-end RESTful APIs
  • Develop server-side components using Java and Node.js
  • Work with NoSQL and SQL databases to support application data needs
  • Apply strong application testing practices across the development lifecycle
  • Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and track work via Jira
  • Support DevOps practices for build, deployment, and release management
  • Apply software design patterns to ensure maintainable, scalable code

Requirements

  • BS/BA with 8+ years of experience, or Master's with 6+ years (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 5+ years of Android/iOS mobile development experience
  • Required experience with Flutter and Dart
  • Experience with Java and Node.js application development
  • Experience with Postgres, Spring Boot, SQL, Kafka, MySQL, Struts, Hibernate, JSF, Swing, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Angular/React
  • Knowledge of software design patterns
  • Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking tools
  • Experience with Agile and service-oriented development practices
  • Experience with DevOps frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation
  • Valid local driver's license required
  • DHS experience preferred
