Job Description

Long-term contract opportunity with our client in Toronto, ON for an experienced Senior Java Developer. This hybrid role requires deep backend engineering expertise across Java and Python, cloud-native architecture, and modern DevOps practices to support system integration and microservices delivery for the client's technology team.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Hibernate
Build and maintain microservices and REST APIs
Develop automation and scripting solutions using Python
Work with relational and NoSQL databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQL Server
Deploy and manage applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Git
Apply software design patterns and data structures for scalable system integration

Requirements

10+ years of software development experience
Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Hibernate
Strong proficiency in Python for application development, automation, and scripting
Experience with Microservices Architecture and REST API development
Hands-on experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQL Server
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and system integration
Must currently be based in Ontario, Canada (client requirement)
