Job Description

We take play seriously. We’re looking for curious adventurers ready to find their party, fueled by imagination and drive to build what’s never been built before. At Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, you’ll collaborate with passionate teams to reimagine our iconic brands and create experiences that spark joy, connection, and community through the magic of play. This is your chance to shape legendary play that lasts a lifetime. Step Into the Multiverse: Your Next Adventure Starts Here At Wizards of the Coast, we harness the power of imagination and connection to create unforgettable experiences. We create entertainment that inspires creativity, sparks passion, forges friendships, and fosters communities around the globe. In every pursuit our mission is to inspire a lifetime love of games. Whether it's through the strategic depth of Magic: The Gathering®, the rich storytelling of Dungeons & Dragons®, or our AAA digital game studios, we build worlds that bring people together, spark creativity, and fuel adventure. As we continue to grow and explore new realms, we're seeking passionate, curious, and innovative minds to join the adventure. We are looking for a multidisciplinary UI/UX Director to join our digital game team at Wizards of the Coast and be responsible for defining the visual identity and functional architecture of our game’s interface. As a UI/UX Director, you will ensure that complex data is translated into intuitive player experiences while maintaining alignment with the artistic direction and the core mechanics of a core RPG. What You’ll Do - Direct the design and development of all UI elements, including menus, navigation, HUD, and effects. Ensure the visual style aligns with the established Art Direction and supports our intended immersion. - Distill complex mechanics and game data into clear, intuitive player choices. Create layouts that prioritize clarity and ease of use for deep, systems-heavy gameplay. - Work with the Art, Narrative, and Core Gameplay teams to integrate the UI into the broader game experience. Ensure consistent messaging and functional alignment across all departments. - Act as the primary champion for accessibility, ensuring the game meets industry standards for accessible and inclusive design. Develop UI/UX systems that support a wide range of player options and customization. - Mentor other UI/UX designers and oversee the production of assets from concept to final implementation. Maintain quality standards through all development phases and provide clear feedback and mentorship to the team. What You’ll Bring - 7+ years of experience in UI/UX design within the games industry, with a significant background in a leadership or director-level role. - Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate a clear vision to stakeholders, internal teams, and external partners. - Comprehensive understanding of current UI/UX tools, graphic design principles, and technical implementation pipelines. - Expert knowledge of usability, player behavior and psychology, and accessibility standards within interactive media. What Sets You Apart - Passion for Dungeons & Dragons and roleplaying game systems, with the ability to translate complex tabletop mechanics into digital interfaces. - Solid understanding of best practices for intuitive, player-centric design and video game UI/X accessibility standards.
