Job Description
VITS is looking for an experienced Sr. Front-End Architect to lead the design and development of modern, scalable, and high-performance web applications. This is a W2 contract role based onsite in Jersey City, NJ, ideal for a hands-on technical leader who can define front-end architecture, mentor engineers, and drive engineering excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead front-end architecture and development using React & TypeScript
- Build scalable, accessible, and responsive user interfaces
- Define engineering standards, best practices, and coding guidelines
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and Backend teams
- Mentor developers and drive technical excellence
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and user experience
Requirements
- 16+ years of experience in front-end engineering
- Expert-level React.js
- Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Front-end architecture and design systems experience
- HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI development
- Experience with Webpack/Vite, Babel, npm/yarn/pnpm
- GraphQL & REST API experience
- Testing experience with Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright
- Accessibility expertise (WCAG, ARIA)
- Performance optimization experience (Core Web Vitals, bundle optimization)
- Security best practices knowledge (XSS, CSRF, Authentication)
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
