Job Description

VMR Technologies is hiring an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong application development expertise in Python and modern web technologies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications in AWS, hosted and managed on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). This role requires a strong software engineering mindset, comfort working across application and cloud infrastructure layers, and experience delivering secure, scalable, and highly available solutions in an enterprise environment. Position is onsite and open across New York, New Jersey, and Atlanta, Georgia locations. Note: OPT candidates are not eligible for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and support cloud-native applications on AWS
  • Manage and operate applications hosted on Amazon EKS
  • Work across both application and cloud infrastructure layers
  • Build secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Drive technical tasks independently through to completion
  • Maintain strong focus on application quality, reliability, security, and maintainability

Requirements

  • 10-12+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript
  • Experience with web frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI, React, Angular, or Vue.js
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platform
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, or Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB, or MongoDB
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK
  • Proficiency with source control tools such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket
  • Must be willing to work onsite in New York, New Jersey, or Atlanta, Georgia
  • OPT visa holders are not eligible for this position
