Our partner is looking for a Web Developer-Contract based in the United States.** The Web Developer-Contract will support the evolution of a public-facing digital presence by designing, developing, and optimizing WordPress-based web experiences. This role combines technical expertise with creative problem-solving, partnering closely with Marketing and Design teams to deliver impactful web solutions. The ideal candidate will take ownership of projects from concept through completion, balancing feature development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements. You will contribute to scalable, secure, and high-performing websites while ensuring accessibility, responsiveness, and strong user experiences. This opportunity is well suited for a self-directed developer who thrives in a remote environment and enjoys working across both front-end and back-end technologies. The role offers the chance to influence web strategy, improve digital performance, and deliver solutions that support business growth. ### Accountabilities: - Design, develop, and maintain WordPress-based websites, including custom themes, plugins, and site enhancements. - Build and update landing pages, campaign pages, and website sections in collaboration with Marketing and Design teams. - Develop responsive, accessible, and cross-browser-compatible front-end experiences using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - Optimize website performance, including page speed, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, and overall user experience improvements. - Manage WordPress configurations, plugin updates, security improvements, and ongoing site maintenance. - Integrate third-party platforms and APIs, including CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and other business tools. - Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end issues efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. - Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established development practices. - Support testing and quality assurance processes to ensure reliable and consistent releases. - Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams across Marketing, Design, and Operations in a remote-first environment. **Requirements:** - 5+ years of professional web development experience, with significant expertise in WordPress development. - Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including experience with vanilla JavaScript and/or modern frameworks. - Proven experience building and customizing WordPress themes and plugins from the ground up. - Hands-on experience with WordPress VIP, including knowledge of hosting environments, deployment workflows, and coding standards. - Familiarity with page-building tools such as Elementor, Gutenberg, or similar platforms. - Experience integrating business platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, or comparable solutions. - Strong understanding of website performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and technical SEO principles. - Knowledge of WordPress security best practices and website hardening techniques. - Experience using Git-based version control workflows. - Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple projects in a remote environment. - Excellent written communication skills for effective asynchronous collaboration. - Experience working with B2B technology or cybersecurity organizations is a plus. - Familiarity with headless WordPress architectures or REST API integrations is highly valued. **Benefits:** - Competitive hourly compensation ranging from **$75 – $85 USD/hour**, based on experience and qualifications. - Fully remote position available to candidates authorized to work and reside in the United States. - Flexible work environment with opportunities for independent ownership and autonomy. - Occasional quarterly travel opportunities for company events and in-person collaboration. - Opportunity to work on high-impact digital projects with cross-functional teams. - Collaborative remote-first culture focused on innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement. - Inclusive workplace environment committed to equal opportunity and welcoming diverse perspectives. **How Jobgether works:** We use an **AI-powered matching process** to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements.
