Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an Accountant/Administrative Assistant to support a dynamic residential real estate management and development office. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and eager to learn new skills and concepts. This role requires a strong understanding of financial processes, administrative duties, and project cost tracking to support the efficient operation of our growing business.
WHAT YOU BRING (MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS)
- 3-5 years of experience in administrative or accounting roles (preferably in real estate development or construction).
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and financial modeling a plus).
- Familiarity with NetSuite, and QuickBooks is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must successfully complete a skills assessment as part of the hiring process.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
- Handle accounts payable, billing, receivables, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and filing.
- Establish and manage utility costs, security deposits, insurance and other property management requirements.
- Track and monitor project costs to budget, prepare cost reports and analyze ongoing expenses.
- Prepare preliminary balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Assist with tax preparation and compliance reporting, including property taxes, 1099 filings, and regulatory submissions.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and legal teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Provide general administrative support, including document preparation, scheduling, and office organization.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and business records (Confidentiality agreement required).
