Job Description
1. Education: A College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information science, or management information systems preferred.
2. Training and Experience: Minimum three years of experience with computer programming with database experience preferred. Technically fluent in programming languages, including C++, SQL, Java, HTML, PHP. Extensive database and operating systems experience with MS Windows, SQL Server, Linux. Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies. Hands-on software troubleshooting experience. Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
3. Job Knowledge: Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Adept at conducting research into software-related issues and products. Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Customer service skills an asset. Highly logical. Highly self-motivated and directed. Keen attention to detail. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

DESCRIPTION:
Under direct supervision of the Lead Applications Developer/Programmer, the Applications Developer/Programmer role is to strategically facilitate the organization’s business and data analytics needs including but not limited to business intelligence and data mining application management and integration with databases and data warehouses, rolling out data analytics tools to the end user, and ensuring data integrity. They will be responsible for ensuring business and data analytics tools are available, accurate, and thoroughly tested. They will assist with other department’s business and data analytics needs. Responsible for one shift, five days per week. Incumbent is subject to overtime, on-call duty and call back as required by the organization.
Physical Effort: Works in well-lighted, air-conditioned office. Some travel is required.
Mental Effort: Position is prone to many interruptions and repetitive tasks.

- Manage and integrate applications with databases and data warehouses
- Roll out data analytics tools to end users
- Ensure data integrity and availability of analytics tools
- Conduct thorough testing of business and data analytics tools
- Assist other departments with business and data analytics needs
- Perform software troubleshooting
