A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR ROLE
As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records across multiple entities. You will support key accounting processes including reconciliations, transaction processing, and month-end close activities, helping maintain financial transparency and compliance.
This role offers the opportunity to build strong technical accounting skills while working alongside experienced finance professionals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. YOUR DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record and process Hire Purchase repayments accurately within the ERP system and maintain up-to-date schedules
- Allocate transactions to the correct contracts, general ledger accounts, and cost centres
- Perform monthly reconciliations including HP, bank, credit card, intercompany, and balance sheet accounts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies across financial records and escalate complex issues when needed
- Process and review corporate credit card transactions ensuring proper documentation and policy compliance
- Assist with month-end activities including journals, accruals, and reconciliation support
- Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready supporting documentation across all financial processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify transactions and follow up on missing or incomplete information
- Support audit requirements by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and other required documentation
A BIT ABOUT YOU
- Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance
- At least 2 years of experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar role
- Hands-on experience supporting month-end close processes and reconciliations
- Familiarity with SAP B1 or other ERP systems is highly advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the business
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and within a team
- Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exposure to multi-entity or group accounting environments is an advantage
