Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Manager (BC) based in Canada. This role offers the opportunity to drive business growth within a fast-moving fintech environment focused on digital payment innovation. You will be responsible for expanding market presence, building strategic relationships, and generating new revenue opportunities. The position combines consultative sales, partnership development, and solution-based selling with leading payment technologies. You will work closely with merchants, technology partners, and internal teams to deliver tailored payment solutions. This is a high-impact opportunity for a motivated sales professional who thrives on building relationships and exceeding growth objectives. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, self-driven, and excited to contribute to the expansion of a growing financial technology business. ### Accountabilities: As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening merchant relationships, and supporting revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives. You will work independently while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective payment solutions and exceptional client experiences. - Generate and qualify new business leads through prospecting, market research, outreach campaigns, and direct communication with potential merchants and technology partners. - Present digital payment solutions and value-added services to prospective clients, clearly demonstrating business benefits and use cases. - Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, including small business owners, enterprise clients, and senior executives. - Develop customized sales strategies based on customer needs, industry requirements, and market opportunities. - Collaborate with system integrators, SaaS providers, and internal teams to create integrated solutions for merchants. - Negotiate agreements, guide prospects through the onboarding process, and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately. - Support merchants during implementation by coordinating communication between clients, partners, product teams, and technical stakeholders. - Maintain ongoing client engagement after onboarding to identify additional service opportunities and support long-term retention. - Track sales activity, pipeline development, and revenue forecasts to support business objectives. ## Requirements: The ideal candidate is a results-oriented sales professional with experience in business development, fintech, payments, or technology-driven solutions. You should be comfortable managing the full sales cycle, building relationships across different industries, and working independently in a remote environment. - Proven experience in B2B or B2C business development, sales, or account management. - Previous experience in payment processing, POS systems, fintech, or related technology industries is required. - Demonstrated ability to generate leads, conduct market research, perform cold outreach, and convert prospects into customers. - Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. - Experience using a consultative selling approach to understand customer challenges and recommend tailored solutions. - Ability to build trusted relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and industries. - Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and sales opportunities simultaneously. - Technologically comfortable and able to quickly learn new platforms, tools, and solutions. - Excellent English written, verbal, and listening communication skills. - Fluency in an additional language is considered an asset. - Must have access to a vehicle for business activities. - Must be located in the Vancouver, British Columbia area. ## Benefits: - Competitive base salary ranging from $50,000 to $55,000 CAD, depending on experience. - Commission opportunities and performance-based bonuses. - Extended health, dental, and vision benefits. - Life and disability insurance coverage. - Vacation leave. - Learning and professional development support. - Opportunities for career growth and advancement within a fast-growing organization. - Remote work flexibility while being based in the Vancouver, BC area. - Opportunity to join a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team. - Community engagement opportunities through company initiatives.
