Job Description
## Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interim HR Director to temporarily strengthen our HR project team during a large-scale organizational restructuring. The reorganization is a high-stakes initiative affecting approximately one-third of our 3,000-person workforce.
The project is entering a crucial phase where thoroughness, precise planning, and clear communication are essential. In this role, you will be responsible for directing and executing the HR processes surrounding the employee placement and selection process. You will support the HR Project Manager in preparing, organizing, and executing the restructuring, ensuring all formal HR processes are meticulously handled from an administrative, legal, and procedural standpoint.
## Key Responsibilities & Result Areas
As the Interim HR Director, you will maintain a strategic overview while actively executing operational tasks. Your key focus areas include:
- Formal Correspondence Management: Draft, manage, and coordinate all personnel letters and official HR correspondence arising from the reorganization.
- Quality & Compliance Control: Monitor the quality, completeness, uniformity, and timeliness of all formal communication, ensuring it aligns perfectly with organizational decision-making, placement processes, and applicable employment laws/regulations.
- Process Planning & Coordination: Organize, coordinate, and monitor the timeline surrounding the formal communication process, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.
- Project Management Support: Partner with the HR Project Manager to streamline the overall planning, preparation, and execution of the restructuring phases.
- Risk & Bottleneck Mitigation: Identify potential risks, administrative bottlenecks, and dependencies. Proactively propose and implement improvements to ensure a smooth, compliant, and legally defensible execution.
- Appeals & Objections: Provide professional assistance and documentation support throughout the employee objection and appeals processes.
## Profile & Qualifications
We are looking for an independent, highly structured professional who is comfortable navigating complex change processes and can hit the ground running. You must balance analytical thinking with a hands-on, practical approach to execution.
### Experience & Education
- Restructuring Expertise: Demonstrable experience steering placement and selection processes during large-scale reorganizations, preferably within the Higher Education sector (Universities / Universities of Applied Sciences) or highly regulated environments.
- Employment Law & HR Correspondence: Proven track record of drafting legally sound formal HR documentation, termination/placement letters, and employment law correspondence.
- Risk Management: Strong sense of risk management with the ability to foresee legal or procedural roadblocks before they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, manage, and coordinate all personnel letters and official HR correspondence arising from the reorganization.
- Monitor the quality, completeness, uniformity, and timeliness of formal communication to ensure alignment with organizational decisions and employment laws.
- Organize, coordinate, and monitor the timeline surrounding the formal communication process to ensure strict adherence to deadlines.
- Partner with the HR Project Manager to streamline the overall planning, preparation, and execution of restructuring phases.
- Identify potential risks, administrative bottlenecks, and dependencies, and proactively propose improvements for smooth execution.
- Provide professional assistance and documentation support throughout the employee objection and appeals processes.
