\\\This a 12-month contract position for an Intermediate Accountant and is based out of Vancouver, BC\\\
In this role
The Intermediate Accountant’s role is to enhance the transparency and insight of the Real Estate Management Service (REMS) financial reporting, enabling upper management and internal clients to make informed business decisions.
- Full cycle monthly Financial Reporting and quarterly Forecasts for several business lines.
- Perform required corporate accounting functions including; monthly revenue and expense accruals, preparation and input of journal entries, P&L review, AR review, Account Reconciliations, preparation of supporting working papers, etc.
- Ensure clients are billed in accordance with their management agreements, review and post billing batches done by Divisional Accountant.
- Communicate with Regional Leads during forecasts and budget for new business assumptions, update related working papers, budget system and feedback reports.
- Use accounting knowledge to ensure financial statements are presented accurately and are up to date; ensure data integrity by investigating monthly variances to forecast.
- Support the Assistant Controller and Regional Leaders with ad-hoc analysis.
- Support the Financial Analysts team with Forecast input, variance analysis.
What you’ll bring
- One to three years of experience as a financial accountant, preferably in real estate.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA designation completed or in progress
- Expert knowledge in MS Excel, experience working with AI (prompts); Automate, Power Pivot and Power Query is a plus
- Prior experience with Yardi is preferred
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and maintain focus with proactive planning
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and various levels of management
- Able to work in a deadline-driven fast-paced environment
- Strong aptitude for streamlining and improving processes
- Experience in real estate is a plus

Approximate Salary Range for Role: $66,601 to $75,000
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
