Job Description

Location: Oak Ridge, TN (In-Person) Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: COO Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, client-focused PEO Client HR Manager to serve as the primary Human Resources partner for our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) clients. This role is responsible for delivering strategic and operational HR support, ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, and helping clients effectively manage their workforce. The ideal candidate is a proactive HR professional with strong relationship management skills, extensive knowledge of employment practices, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. This is an on-site position located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Management - Serve as the primary HR contact for PEO clients. - Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with business owners and client leadership teams. - Conduct regular client meetings to review HR initiatives, workforce challenges, compliance requirements, and employee relations matters. - Identify opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and retention. Human Resources Consulting - Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations. - Assist clients with employee handbook development, policy implementation, and HR best practices. - Support recruitment, onboarding, training, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives. - Advise clients on compensation strategies, organizational structure, and employee engagement programs. Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure client compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. - Provide guidance related to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, COBRA, OSHA, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and other employment-related requirements. - Conduct HR audits and recommend corrective actions when necessary. - Stay current on employment law changes and communicate updates to clients. Benefits & Payroll Support - Partner with internal teams to support benefit administration and payroll-related inquiries. - Assist clients with open enrollment activities, employee communications, and benefits education. - Support the resolution of payroll, benefits, and HRIS-related issues. Training & Development - Deliver HR-related training and presentations for clients and their employees. - Educate managers on effective leadership, employee relations, performance management, and compliance topics. - Develop resources and tools that help clients improve HR effectiveness. Qualifications Required - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience. - Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements. - Experience handling employee relations, investigations, and performance management. - Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms. Preferred - Experience working in a PEO, ASO, consulting, or multi-client HR environment. - SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification. - Experience with payroll and benefits administration. - Knowledge of multi-state employment practices and regulations.
