Job Description

Product Designer **Description -** We’re seeking a passionate, hands-on, and comprehensive thinking Product Designer to join our kick-ass team at HP. We are looking for creative thinkers who are entrepreneurial, critical of the current experiences around them, and innovators who are energized to re-imagine the way people, brands, and services interact to make devices, services, and the overall HP brand more personal and valuable for everyone involved. You have a drive to tackle complex problems through a balance of user experience, interaction design, and visual craft to create intuitive, elegant, and scalable experiences. You are also energized by the role AI plays in shaping the future of products—and how it can enhance both the user experience and the way we design. **Things that we value:** • Curious minds with an appetite for learning • Strong points of view paired with a healthy dose of humility • Collaborative mindsets, eagerness for a quality critique, and a great sense of humor • User-centric and strategic approaches • Ability to give and solicit feedback from other designers to continually raise our bar for quality • Strong interest in following the latest trends in design, technology, and AI ## **\*\*Must have a portfolio link within resume to be considered** **Responsibilities:** **End-to-End Feature Ownership:** Own and drive design solutions from problem definition through execution for key features and product areas, while contributing to broader platform experiences. **User-Centered Design:** Translate user needs, behaviors, and insights into intuitive and engaging experiences. Participate in research and use data to inform and validate design decisions. **Interaction & Visual Design:** Create high-quality interaction patterns and visual designs that align with brand and system standards. Move fluidly from low-fidelity concepts to polished, production-ready UI. **AI-Powered Experience Design:** Actively design AI-driven experiences such as intelligent recommendations, automation, and contextual assistance. Understand how to integrate AI in a way that is useful, usable, and trustworthy for users. **AI-Integrated Workflow:** Leverage AI tools to accelerate your design process—from ideation and research to prototyping and iteration—while maintaining a high bar for quality and critical thinking. **Cross-Team Collaboration (Critical):** Work effectively across the GxD organization and multiple partner teams, including different business units and engineering groups. Navigate varying perspectives, align stakeholders, and drive toward cohesive, platform-level solutions while advocating for the end user. **Systems Thinking:** Work within and contribute to a scalable design system, ensuring consistency across mobile and desktop while evolving patterns where needed. **Prototyping & Iteration:** Create prototypes to explore ideas, communicate concepts, and test experiences. Iterate quickly based on feedback, data, and evolving requirements. **Communication:** Clearly articulate your design thinking, rationale, and decisions to cross-functional partners at different levels of the organization. Contribute to a strong design culture through critique and collaboration. **Requirements:** • 3–5 years of experience as a UX/UI or Product Designer • Experience contributing to and owning parts of the product design lifecycle, from concept to shipped experience • A portfolio demonstrating strong UX thinking, interaction design, and visual design craft **AI Proficiency:** • Experience designing AI-powered product experiences (e.g., personalization, automation, conversational interfaces, or intelligent assistance) • Demonstrated use of AI tools within your design workflow to improve speed, quality, or insight generation • Ability to critically assess where AI meaningfully improves the user experience • Experience designing for mobile and desktop platforms • Proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools • Solid understanding of design systems and component-based design • Familiarity with user research methods and data-informed design **Collaboration & Influence:** • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and disciplines within a complex organization • Ability to navigate ambiguity, incorporate diverse inputs, and align stakeholders toward clear design outcomes • Strong communication and storytelling skills to influence decisions and build shared understanding • Ability to simplify complex problems into clear, elegant solutions • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills • A growth mindset with a willingness to learn, adapt, and experiment The pay range for this role is **$105,050** to **$161,800** USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
