Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Developer Community Manager based in the Canada . This role is focused on building and scaling meaningful relationships with developer communities in the evolving digital landscape. You will shape engagement strategies that support awareness, adoption, and advocacy for developer-focused products and tools. The position combines technical expertise, community leadership, and communication skills to create authentic connections across online and offline channels. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, customer success, and social teams to represent developer needs and influence product direction. The ideal candidate thrives in a remote-first, fast-moving environment and enjoys solving complex challenges through collaboration and innovation ### Accountabilities: The Senior Developer Community Manager will lead community engagement initiatives, strengthen developer relationships, and create programs that encourage adoption, collaboration, and long-term participation. This role requires a blend of technical understanding, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse developer audiences. - Develop and execute developer community engagement strategies that support product awareness, adoption, and meaningful technical conversations. - Build and maintain relationships with developers across online platforms, social channels, events, and community spaces. - Engage with technical audiences on platforms such as LinkedIn, X, Reddit, GitHub, and other developer-focused channels. - Create welcoming and productive environments where developers can connect, share knowledge, and collaborate. - Monitor community discussions, identify user needs and feedback, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for internal teams. - Advocate for developer perspectives by partnering with product and engineering teams to improve tools, resources, and user experiences. - Support and organize online and in-person events, user groups, technical sessions, and community initiatives. - Develop resources, training materials, guidelines, and programs that enable employees to participate effectively in community engagement. - Create recognition and advocacy programs that encourage contributions, peer support, technical content creation, and community participation. - Maximize the impact of community initiatives by repurposing content, documentation, tutorials, and event materials across multiple channels. - Help maintain healthy public repositories and encourage productive developer collaboration. ## Requirements: The ideal candidate combines technical experience, strong communication abilities, and proven community-building expertise. You should be comfortable engaging with developers, managing complex conversations, and working cross-functionally in a fast-paced technology environment. - 5+ years of experience in technical roles such as software engineering, platform engineering, developer relations, technical support, solution engineering, or community management. - Strong familiarity with modern software development workflows, technologies, and developer practices. - Demonstrated experience building and managing technical communities both online and in person. - Ability to handle complex or sensitive community situations with empathy, professionalism, tact, and sound judgment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across social platforms, GitHub, project trackers, and professional settings. - Experience organizing online communities, events, asynchronous projects, or long-term cross-functional initiatives. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, identify dependencies, and coordinate multiple initiatives. - Ability to listen to technical conversations, identify trends and opportunities, and transform community feedback into actionable insights. - Experience advocating for user needs and collaborating with internal teams to influence product improvements. - Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with ambiguity and changing priorities. - Passion for developer ecosystems, technology, security, AI, and creating positive user experiences. ## Benefits: - Competitive annual base salary range of $133,000–$186,000 USD for US-based roles. - Equity grant opportunities and participation in applicable incentive programs. - Comprehensive health, dental, and wellness benefits. - Retirement savings support through a 401(k) matching program. - Generous paid time off policy. - Parental leave top-up programs. - Fully remote-first work environment. - Opportunities to participate in company offsites, team gatherings, and industry events. - Paid volunteer days and employee recognition programs. - Access to professional growth opportunities in a collaborative and innovative technology environment. - Free access to the company’s digital security tools and services.
