Language: English B2 minimum (German a plus) | Level: Senior | Location: Lisbon (hybrid, 1 day/week in office) ### PROJECT & CONTEXT You'll be responsible for backend applications within a master data management domain, working in a modern Spring Boot stack deployed on Kubernetes. The role covers the full engineering lifecycle — from feasibility analysis and API/data model design through implementation, unit testing, and quality assurance — in close collaboration with a cross-functional Scrum team. Customer and master data demand the highest standards of consistency and correctness, making architectural rigour and attention to detail essential. Tools: IntelliJ, GitLab, Confluence, Jira, ArgoCD, Docker ### WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 5+ years of hands-on Java experience in production enterprise environments - Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Cloud Data Flow - Solid experience with REST APIs and Apache Kafka for event-driven integration - Experience in database modelling and SQL queries for high-consistency data environments - Ability to define and design APIs and data models aligned with modern architecture standards - Experience writing unit tests and contributing to team-wide quality standards - Background in banking, financial services, or similarly regulated environments — required - Collaborative, hands-on mentality with a continuous improvement mindset - Comfortable and energised working within an Agile/Scrum team - Good analytical and communication skills - Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent - English B2 or above — oral and written - Based in Portugal, available for hybrid work in Lisbon, 1 day/week - Willingness to travel occasionally (including potential onboarding in Switzerland) ### NICE TO HAVE - Knowledge of GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes for containerised deployment and CI/CD workflows - Experience with ArgoCD for GitOps-based deployment management - German language skills — oral and/or written - Exposure to master data management platforms or data governance frameworks Compensation: €50.000 to €65.000/year, depending on experience and seniority level.
