If you're looking to contribute to something bigger and help shape what’s next, this is an opportunity to do meaningful work with real impact. ### About the role As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design review, technical assurance and delivery of complex power generation and energy projects across Australia. Working closely with project teams, engineering specialists and external design partners, you'll provide senior technical expertise across balance of plant systems, packaged power solutions and mechanical engineering design reviews. You'll help ensure engineering solutions are safe, practical, commercially effective and fit for purpose. This is a highly influential role that combines hands-on technical leadership with mentoring and development of junior engineers, helping to strengthen engineering capability across the business. This role is a hybrid role based in our HQ in Mulgrave, Melbourne. ### Key responsibilities include (but not limited to!): - Provide senior mechanical engineering expertise across power generation and energy projects. - Review and validate mechanical designs, calculations and technical documentation produced internally and by external engineering partners. - Support the development of balance of plant and packaged power generation solutions. - Identify technical risks, design issues and improvement opportunities early in the project lifecycle. - Provide mentoring, coaching and technical guidance to junior engineers. - Support tender development, technical proposals and project delivery activities. - Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering teams and key stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes. - Contribute to the development of engineering standards, templates, processes and continuous improvement initiatives. # What you'll bring We're looking for an experienced engineer who combines strong technical capability with practical judgement, collaboration and leadership. ### Required - Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer. - Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent professional accreditation). - Significant experience (7+ years) in mechanical engineering within power generation, mining, industrial plant, energy or related heavy industry environments. - Strong understanding of balance of plant systems, including pumps, fluid flow, cooling systems, ventilation, heat transfer and associated mechanical equipment. - Experience reviewing and validating engineering designs, calculations and technical documentation. - Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentoring and constructive engineering review. - Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills. - Current Australian working rights. ### Highly regarded - Experience across power station, power generation or packaged power solution projects. - Exposure to mining or industrial processing facilities. - Experience with skid-mounted equipment, enclosures and packaged plant solutions. - Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams and external engineering consultants. - Familiarity with energy balance calculations, heat rejection systems and fluid flow modelling.
