Job Description
A leading engineering design organization specializing in industrial systems, mobile heavy equipment, and energy‑sector technologies, we deliver advanced solutions for field‑deployed machinery, mobile mechanical systems, and mission‑critical equipment used in drilling, completions, well intervention, and petrochemical operations. Our team combines deep technical expertise with hands‑on innovation to solve complex mechanical challenges and build reliable, high‑performance systems that operate in demanding environments.
We are expanding our engineering presence in the Minneapolis–St. Paul region and are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a fully on‑site, collaborative setting.
### Role Overview
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design, optimization, and validation of advanced mobile mechanical systems used in demanding industrial and oil & gas applications. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on problem‑solving, mechanical creativity, and building equipment that performs reliably in high‑pressure, high‑load, and high‑cycle environments.
This position is 100% on‑site at our Minneapolis–St. Paul facility. No remote or hybrid work is available.
### Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development — Engineer mobile mechanical systems including hydraulic equipment, lifting systems, and field‑service machinery.
- Performance Optimization — Improve reliability, efficiency, and durability for harsh operating conditions.
- CAD Modeling — Create detailed CAD models and drawings using Inventor (preferred), Pro‑E, or SolidWorks.
- Prototype & Validation — Test, refine, and validate equipment to meet API, ASME, and internal quality standards.
- Troubleshooting — Diagnose field issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Work closely with design, manufacturing, and field teams to deliver robust, field‑ready solutions.
### Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience in oil & gas or heavy industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in Inventor, Pro‑E, or SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, power units, and mechanical assemblies.
- Proven ability to manage projects from concept through deployment.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and technical reporting skills.
### Work Environment
- 100% On‑Site at our Minneapolis–St. Paul engineering facility.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, fabricators, and field technicians.
- Occasional travel (~10%) to customer sites and fabrication partners.
We value our team's well-being and offer a robust benefits package to support your professional and personal growth:
- Competitive Compensation: An attractive Base Salary and Retention and Performance bonuses, commensurate with experience.
- Personal Time Off (PTO): Paid holidays, PTO, and flexible time off to recharge and maintain work-life balance.
- Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with company match to secure your future.
- Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
- Disability Protection: Short-term and long-term disability plans for peace of mind.
