This role offers the opportunity to shape the engineering foundations that enable teams to build, deploy, and operate reliable software at scale. You will join a Developer Experience organization focused on improving productivity, reliability, and operational excellence across a global engineering environment. The position combines software engineering, infrastructure expertise, automation, and AI-driven innovation to solve complex operational challenges. You will design systems that improve service health, accelerate delivery, and empower engineering teams to work with confidence. Working closely with product engineering teams, you will influence best practices around reliability, observability, and incident management. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to make a measurable impact on large-scale platforms supporting critical real-world operations. The role provides a highly collaborative environment where ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence are valued. ### Accountabilities: The Senior Software Engineer II will design, build, and improve engineering platforms and operational systems that enhance reliability, scalability, and developer productivity. This role requires strong technical ownership, a focus on automation, and the ability to partner with engineering teams to solve complex infrastructure and operational challenges. - Design and develop automated reliability and self-healing systems, including deployment safeguards, automated rollbacks, and fault mitigation capabilities. - Build and enhance internal platform tooling that enables engineering teams to deliver and operate services more efficiently. - Own improvements to incident management processes and tooling by reducing alert noise, improving actionable signals, and strengthening on-call effectiveness. - Develop and evolve observability solutions, including monitoring systems, alerting frameworks, service-level objectives (SLOs), and performance analysis capabilities. - Contribute to AI-powered operational solutions that automate detection, remediation, and repetitive engineering workflows. - Identify recurring operational challenges and eliminate technical toil through automation, process improvements, and scalable solutions. - Partner with product engineering teams to improve reliability practices, reduce operational overhead, and promote engineering best practices. - Establish and champion operational excellence standards through engineering guidelines, guardrails, scorecards, and shared frameworks. - Analyze system performance, reliability metrics, and operational data to identify improvement opportunities. - Write high-quality, maintainable code focused on infrastructure, deployment, automation, and operational challenges. - Mentor engineers, share technical knowledge, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement. ## Requirements: The ideal candidate is a senior software engineer with strong experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, reliability, and developer experience. You should be comfortable working on large-scale systems, collaborating across teams, and using modern technologies to improve engineering effectiveness. - 8+ years of experience designing and building software products within engineering teams. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - 3+ years of experience working in infrastructure, platform engineering, or developer experience-focused teams. - Strong expertise in observability, reliability engineering, operational metrics, and data-driven problem solving. - Proven experience designing monitoring frameworks, SLO platforms, and automated response workflows. - Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, New Relic, or equivalent platforms. - Experience building and supporting large-scale enterprise software applications. - Experience designing internal developer tools, engineering portals, or solutions that simplify software delivery workflows. - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or similar environments. - Experience applying AI-driven automation across the software development lifecycle to improve productivity and reduce engineering friction. - Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or equivalent languages, particularly for infrastructure and operational solutions. - Experience with incident management tools such as PagerDuty, Incident.io, or similar platforms is preferred. - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform is preferred. - Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering teams. - Experience mentoring engineers and acting as a technical leader. - Growth mindset with a proactive approach to improving systems, processes, and team practices. ## Benefits: - Competitive annual compensation package based on experience, skills, and location. - Eligibility for equity opportunities through company stock programs. - Performance-based rewards and opportunities for long-term career growth. - Flexible remote working model designed to support different working preferences. - Professional development support and learning opportunities. - Comprehensive healthcare benefits. - Parental leave and family support programs. - Opportunity to work on impactful technology solutions supporting critical global industries. - Collaborative environment focused on innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
