This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced backend engineer passionate about building reliable systems for emerging technologies. ### Accountabilities: As a Staff Backend Engineer focused on AI Governance, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable backend foundations that support secure AI adoption. You will contribute to architecture decisions, improve engineering practices, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable governance capabilities. - Define and drive backend architecture for AI governance systems, including auditability, policy enforcement, and enterprise reporting capabilities. - Design AI audit event systems, including event schemas, data pipelines, storage strategies, retention models, and export capabilities to support compliance requirements. - Build integration layers that connect AI agent platforms with governance controls, enabling visibility and control over AI-driven actions. - Develop technical solutions for tool governance, including metadata models, permissions, and access controls for safer AI tool usage. - Establish backend foundations for policy frameworks that allow organizations to manage AI agents and tools based on specific governance requirements. - Review technical designs, merge requests, and engineering proposals to maintain architectural consistency and implementation quality. - Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and help teams make effective decisions in a distributed and asynchronous environment. - Partner with engineering teams across AI, security, compliance, and platform areas to align governance capabilities with broader product strategies. ## **Requirements:** The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer with strong architectural skills and a passion for building secure, scalable, and highly reliable enterprise systems.
