Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Engineer for a hybrid contract engagement based out of Rockville, MD or McLean, VA. The role operates within an AWS-centric application development environment where engineers contribute across a shared engineering model spanning five different integrated applications. The team supports a blend of front-end, back-end, and full-stack engineering efforts. Only local candidates residing in the DC/VA/MD area will be considered. Candidates must be available for an in-person assessment prior to submission and a face-to-face interview if the assessment is cleared.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement cloud-based solutions within AWS environments
- Contribute across front-end, back-end, and full-stack engineering efforts as needed
- Work across five integrated applications in a shared engineering model
- Apply strong problem-solving and solution-design capabilities within AWS-based environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable cloud solutions
- Support and maintain blended application environments across integrated systems
Requirements
- Minimum 9–10 years of overall software engineering experience required
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience
- Strong problem-solving and solution-design capabilities within AWS-based environments
- Software engineering background preferred over analytics-focused experience
- Experience with front-end, back-end, and/or full-stack development
- Must be a local candidate residing in DC, VA, or MD
- Must be available for an in-person assessment before submission
- Must be available for a face-to-face interview if assessment is cleared
