Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, refactor, test, and production-harden Java and React based components
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Anthropic Claude and Cursor to accelerate design and development
• Evaluate and improve the quality, security, and maintainability of AI-generated code before production release
• Take specifications and independently deliver finished, production-ready features
• Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and other engineers
• Participate fully in Agile ceremonies and delivery processes
• Guide and upskill the team on approaches for building confidence in AI-generated artifacts

Requirements

• Senior-level experience able to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up
• Strong hands-on skills in both Java (backend) and React (frontend)
• Solid grasp of software design patterns and engineering fundamentals
• Demonstrated existing experience with AI-assisted development tools, specifically Claude and/or Cursor
• Engineering maturity to assess and harden AI-generated code for production use
• Highly self-sufficient, individual-contributor working style
• US-based; able to work partially onsite in Chicago, IL
• Comfortable participating fully in Agile ceremonies
