Job Description

## Job Description Timmons Group is seeking a talented Civil Designer to join our dynamic Water/Wastewater Group in our Richmond, VA office. The qualified individual will perform civil site design tasks for a variety of water/wastewater infrastructure projects. The complexity and fast-paced nature of our client’s needs create a dynamic environment for our team members, fostering a culture of teamwork, diverse training opportunities, and a sense of ownership in the successful outcome of the project. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Use professional judgment to independently complete assigned engineering designs. - Lead and execute civil site design tasks across diverse infrastructure projects. - Collaborate closely with Project Managers and mentor junior engineers. - Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure technical accuracy. - Make impactful design decisions that align with client goals and project timelines. - Identify and resolve technical, scheduling, or financial challenges. - Support construction oversight and respond to contractor inquiries. - Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and client communications. - Act as a technical expert on assigned projects and as Project Manager on smaller scope or specialty projects as assigned. Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to: - At least three years of design/engineering experience in municipal infrastructure is required. - Intermediate to advanced ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D software is required. - Ability to use other engineering automation tools (Revit, BIM 360) is preferred. - Must possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans. - Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities. - Must demonstrate two-way communication to effectively work with internal staff. Compensation: Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity. ## Additional Information The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
