## Join Us: Design Critical Water Infrastructure as Principal Engineering Designer – Water — Deliver Clean, Resilient Water Solutions Are you ready to help shape the systems that keep communities healthy, resilient, and moving forward? CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineering Designer – Water to join our Water Team in Indianapolis, IN or in a remote capacity. In this senior-level role, you will lead the design and production of complex water, wastewater, and sewer infrastructure deliverables that support treatment, collection, distribution, assessment, rehabilitation, and long-term system performance—while mentoring designers and partnering with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that protect public health and strengthen communities. ## What You'll Do: - Lead the research, preparation, and production of water/wastewater infrastructure design drawings using tools such as REVIT, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and related design software - Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions across various water/wastewater projects such as treatment facilities, conveyance systems, and pump stations - Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior designers on project drawing production, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards across all deliverables - Examine complex contract documents and drawings for errors, revising as needed to align with contract specifications - Contribute to the development of technical reports, material costs, construction estimations, and production schedules for water/wastewater infrastructure projects - Conduct project review meetings and prepare project “As-Builts” documentation ## What You Bring: - Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or related technical field required - Minimum of 12 years of experience in document production within the engineering discipline required - Proficiency in discipline-based software (REVIT, AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Microsoft Office Suite - Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative work ethic - Expert working knowledge of engineering discipline with strong expertise in design drawing layout - Strong problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated technical proficiency ## Why You'll Love It Here: - Help deliver clean water, reliable wastewater systems, and critical sewer infrastructure that supports public health, environmental stewardship, and community growth - Work on a diverse portfolio of treatment, collection, distribution, assessment, and rehabilitation projects that make a lasting impact - Grow your career in a flexible, supportive environment that values innovation, technical excellence, mentorship, and professional development Curious about the impactful work our Water team is doing?
