Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced 3D Model Application Engineer for our client ADNOC in Abu Dhabi as part of our Project team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business. The position will be based in office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates The PMC 3D Application Engineer is responsible for the implementation, administration, and optimization of 3D engineering design systems and digital tools within an ADNOC PMC project environment. The role ensures the effective deployment and integration of 3D applications (such as PDMS, E3D, SP3D, Navisworks, and other digital engineering platforms) across EPC contractors and project stakeholders. The objective is to enhance design quality, improve coordination, minimize clashes, and support efficient project execution through advanced digital engineering practices. - 3D Systems Implementation & Administration \ Configure, administer, and maintain 3D design systems (e.g., AVEVA E3D/PDMS, Hexagon Smart 3D, Navisworks). \ Ensure proper setup of project environments, databases, user access, and permissions. \ Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with software vendors for resolutions. - Digital Engineering & Integration \ Support the integration of 3D tools with other engineering systems (e.g., document management systems, data platforms). \ Enable interoperability between different contractor systems and formats. \ Promote digital workflows aligned with ADNOC standards and project requirements. - Model Management & Coordination \ Manage and maintain the federated 3D model across all disciplines and contractors. \ Ensure model integrity, consistency, and compliance with project standards. \ Coordinate model exchanges and ensure timely updates from EPC contractors. - Clash Detection & Design Review \ Perform and manage clash detection using tools such as Navisworks or equivalent. \ Facilitate model review sessions and workshops with stakeholders. \ Track, report, and ensure closure of clashes and design issues. - Standards, Procedures & Governance \ Develop and enforce 3D modeling standards, procedures, and best practices. \ Ensure compliance with ADNOC digital engineering and CAD standards. \ Provide guidance to EPC contractors on modeling requirements and deliverables. - Training & User Support \ Provide training and technical support to project teams on 3D applications. \ Develop user guides and best practice documentation. \ Act as the focal point for all 3D system-related queries. - Project Execution Support \ Support engineering, construction, and commissioning teams with 3D model usage. \ Enable visualization, constructability reviews, and simulation activities. \ Assist in generating 3D deliverables such as walkthroughs, renders, and presentations. - Data Management & Handover \ Ensure proper management of 3D data, including backups, version control, and archiving. \ Support digital handover requirements to ADNOC, ensuring completeness and accuracy. \ Coordinate with information management teams for data governance. - Reporting & Monitoring \ Track KPIs related to model quality, clash resolution, and system performance. \ Provide regular reports to PMC management and ADNOC stakeholders. \ Highlight risks, issues, and improvement opportunities. - HSE & Quality Compliance \ Ensure all digital engineering activities align with ADNOC HSE and QA/QC requirements. \ Support safe design practices through effective use of 3D modeling tools. ### Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related discipline. - Relevant certifications in 3D applications are an advantage. - Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering design and 3D applications within oil & gas projects. At least 5 years in a similar role within PMC/EPC environments. Proven experience on ADNOC or major Middle East projects. Hands-on experience managing large, multi-discipline 3D models. - Technical Competencies \ Proficiency in: \ AVEVA PDMS / E3D \ Hexagon Smart 3D (SP3D) \ Navisworks / Autodesk tools \ Strong understanding of engineering workflows and multi-discipline coordination. \ Experience with clash detection, model federation, and data exchange formats. \ Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE) and document management systems. \ Knowledge of ADNOC standards and digital engineering requirements. Soft Skills \ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. \ Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities. \ Ability to train and support multidisciplinary teams. \ Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
