What you will do:
- Collaborate with Controller & CFO to maintain adherence to company accounting policies and procedures
- Prepare and evaluate financial schedules such as project deferrals and WIP reports for review with CFO
- Maintain strong internal controls over project finances, including document management, approvals, and reconciliation procedures
- Knowledge and experience in Preconstruction and Construction agreements and how to record, reflect and reconcile in the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers. Including Capital Improvement, Sales Tax Exempt and Repair and Maintenance work
- Manage job costing for complex construction projects (categorization, recording, analysis, monitoring)
- Assist in all audits including workpaper preparation, review of expense accounts and identify reclassification entries
- Consider all potential factors and risk surrounding a subject to foresee and preemptively address issues
- Partner with project executives and managers to provide financial insights
- Analyze variances between budgeted costs and actual expenditures, investigate causes, and recommend corrective actions to PX
- Identify department inefficiencies and deficiency's working with the CFO, recommending solutions
- Prepare special financial analyses upon request
- Mentor, develop and supervise junior team members
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
What you should have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 10+ years’ experience in Construction Accounting
- Adept at accounting software usage (Sage Intacct and Procore software a plus)
- Advanced computer skills – Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s, Queries, Filters, etc), Power Bi, Power Point
- Must possess excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and strong analytical skills
- Must be highly organized with attention to details, results oriented and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
- Ability to safely navigate a construction site which includes the following: climbing ladders and stairs, use of job hoists, inclement weather conditions, hazardous/cluttered and dark areas, etc
Salary Range
This position is non-exempt and will be compensated at an hourly rate equivalent to an annualized salary range of $118,000 - $150,000.
Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
